Birds of the Pier, 2023
I have always had a passion for photography from a young age. My mom would give us disposable cameras on family vacations so we could capture our favorite moments. I always loved the underwater cameras the most, capturing the fun times I would have with my sister in the hotel pools, or trying to take what I thought were aesthetic pictures of “creatures” in the ocean. At 15 I received my first “nice” camera for my birthday and that is when my love for photography really took off. My friends and I would attempt to have photoshoots when we would hang out as teenagers in a small beach town. Sometimes we would take pictures of each other but mostly we would try to capture the nature and oceans we were surrounded by at the time. I took a bit of a pause on my photographing hobby once college started due to other creative ventures I was exploring.
After not picking up the camera for a few years I got the itch again. In the spring of 2023, I became interested in bird/nature photography after noticing an abundance of bird species living in my backyard. Here are some of my favorite shots from that time period.
